Transportation

Public Transportation from the Airport

Learn about Portland’s public transportation system

Portland is known for its good public transportation, and even getting from the airport to downtown (where the conference is), is a simple train ride. This means it’s easy to get by without renting a car.

The train in portland is called the MAX, and it connects to the airport. There is only one line that actually goes to the airport (the Red line), and the airport is the first stop, so it will only be heading into town from there (it will say towards “City Center and Beaverton Transit Center”). So basically, if you hop on the only train you see, you can’t go wrong :)

The Red line will take you all the way to downtown (about a 45-60 minute ride).

Uber / Lyft

If you prefer to take an Uber or Lyft, we’ve got a custom promo code that will give you a discount (or possibly free) first ride. This will only work if it’s your first time using these services.

For Uber, use the code: uberfloatcon (or click here)

For Lyft, use the code: LYFTFLOATCON (or click here)

Biketown

Portland’s first bike share program has arrived and is already a success! If you’re needing to cover a short distance, consider spending $2.50 for a 30 minute jaunt across town. Want a day pass (180 minutes of ride time), it’s only $12. Get all the details by visiting biketownpdx.com.

Zipcar / Car2Go

If you’re already a member of these two car share services, we have them available in Portland and Car2Go even has airport service now. All you have to do is take a shuttle to their parking lot and pick up your ride. Zipsters, you can find plenty of Zipcar locations planted all over downtown Portland. Drive yourself around town, without the hairy rental car contracts.
